City, University of London is offering 15 doctoral studentships starting in October 2024 as part of an ongoing commitment to recruit 45 outstanding researchers to our six Schools by 2025.

The studentships comprise a stipend that tracks the UKRI rate (currently £20,622 pa) and tuition fees. Successful applicants will also have access to additional resources provided by their School.

Funding

  • Funding is available for UK, EU and international students undertaking full-time or part-time study
  • Full-time students will receive a maintenance grant currently of £20,622 per annum that will rise in line with UKRI stipends. Tuition fees are also paid
  • In addition to resources within the Schools, project/consumable costs of £1,500 are provided.

The application and selection process is run through the School applied to and involves senior academic staff from the relevant disciplines.

Since 2014, we have invested £200 million in our resources and facilities, doubled the proportion of academic staff undertaking world-leading or internationally excellent research, doubled our research grant income, and increased the number of PhDs awarded by 75 per cent. We secure external income from the full range of UK funding bodies and the European Commission, as well as receiving direct funding from industry to build capacity and to help drive our cutting-edge research agendas.
