This interview was carried out by Tasneem Mcarthur, a second year undergraduate student in International Politics at City, University of London, in the spring 2022.
It is part of a larger project to celebrate the life and work of Rosemary Hollis (1952-2020), Olive Tree Director and Professor of Middle East Policy at City during 2008-2018.
This extra curricular initiative, led by Dr Sara Silvestri (Department of International Politics), is also driven by a desire to spread awareness of the great work of Rosemary while enhancing students’ knowledge transfer and skills.
Amjad completed his undergraduate degree in international politics at City, University of London, as an Olive Tree scholar during 2013-2016. He currently works as a translator (Arabic-English) and English teacher in East Jerusalem.
