Registration
Registration support
We will be running in-person sessions to assist all students through the registration and ID check process daily from:
- Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 September
- Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 September
- Monday 25 to Friday 29 September
All in room D220, Rhind Building between 9.30am–4.30pm (sessions will close at 12.30pm on Friday 29 September).

ID card collection
Once your ID check has been finalised, you will receive a notification to confirm your fully registered status.
Within this notification will be a link to a booking system where you can book a slot to come onto campus and collect your ID card by Friday 29 September.
If you are unable to collect your card by this date, students can collect ID cards from the Northampton Suite on the fourth floor of University Building between Monday 2 to Friday 6 October* from 9:30am-4.30pm.
*Please note sessions will close at 12.30pm on 6 October.
If you are unable to book and collect your ID before Monday 10 October, you will need to go to the Student Centre to collect your ID card.

For International student registration and ID card collection, the Visa Compliance team will be available in D112, Rhind Building from 9.30am until 4.30pm on the following days:

Campus tours - Every day during Welcome Week
Join us for a Campus Tour and familiarise yourself with your surroundings. Tours will be available every day during Welcome Week and every 20 minutes on the following dates and times:

Digital Skills for Study Workshops
Learn about the digital skills support available and practice using our systems and apps needed for study, such as our virtual learning environment, Moodle. You will be introduced to our Learning with Moodle module which will help you with your studies at City.
These sessions are aimed at students who already have their City email and log in details so you can access our platforms. Sessions will take place on the following dates:
- 26 September - 10:30am-12pm, 1.30-3pm
- 27 September - 10am-11.30am, 3.30pm-5pm

Freshers' Fair

City SU’s Freshers' Fair is a huge Welcome Week event. Want to join a society, find out more about sports teams and bag yourself some freebies? This is your chance to meet new people and discover what Uni life has to offer. Make sure you come along, you won’t want to miss it! A quiet hour will run from 9am-10am. Please note, last entry is 4.40pm. You don't need to book a ticket to attend.

Following our wonderful sold-out event earlier this month, in the wake of yet another Miss Saigon controversy, this evening showcases performances of songs from superlative East & Southeast Asian musical theatre talent plus continues the thought-provoking and energising discussion on diversity and the place of Asian creatives in musical theatre in the beautiful and atmospheric surroundings of Finsbury Town Hall, home to Urdang @ City.

Sustainability Guessing Game

The Walled Garden is City’s edible community garden for students and staff. Just turn up at any of the below times for a taster session:

This is a great opportunity to learn more about gardening and biodiversity at City, and connect with others during your first week! The garden space is looked after by student and staff volunteers and sessions also run throughout the year.

Culture Festival

Your SU's Culture festival! If you love to try different cuisines from different cultures and love to dance to music from different countries then this is the perfect event for you. We will have a lots of games and activities for students to enjoy as we celebrate some of the different cultures that City has to offer. Beekeeping & Plant pot painting
Beekeeping sessions

City houses Beehives on the roof of Tait building. The 30 minute sessions will give you a taste of what it’s like to be part of the Bee Team at City. Just turn up in your normal clothes (although no open shoes or high heels please) and we will provide all the equipment. Each session will be led by an experienced Beekeeper.

Plant pot painting

Paint your own plant pot with the Sustainability team and find out more about how you can get involved during your time at City. Let your imagination take flight as you paint your plant pot. Explore themes of sustainability, nature, or any idea that inspires you. We will also be providing some seeds and compost so you can plant something to takeaway.

Big Hello

Big Hello from Student Support Services during Welcome Week.
Join teams from City and external providers to find out how they can support your learning, health, wellbeing, career and more. This is an opportunity for students to come and meet the teams, play some games, get some freebies and make friends!

Free Language Courses

The Centre for Language Studies at City University offers a wide range of modern language courses at various levels across the university, including free extracurricular courses.
Come along if you're interested in studying a language outside of your degree for free. You don't need to book to attend this event. This event will include a short presentation on the courses followed by a Q&A. You can attend this at either 12pm or 12.30pm.
Applications close on Friday 29 September, 5pm which can be completed online (you can apply before attending this event).

Sustainability Bike Sale and Repairs

One day only! Come and buy a quality refurbished adult bicycle from just £60. We will also be selling locks and lights to help you to get pedalling.
Why not choose a sustainable, healthy and cheap way to travel around London this year! We will also be on hand to offer advice on good routes and how to access FREE cycle training.
We will also be offering FREE bike repairs. Bring your bike along for a check up from our expert mechanics and get ready for the new term. No need to sign up, just come along.

Societies and Sports in the Square

Join your Students' Union for a day of showcasing the amazing societies and sports teams they have to offer!
